The Jeep Renegade has received a refreshed look and new engines by way of a facelift for 2018, and the updated version of Jeep’s smallest offering will be on sale in the UK by the end of the year.
Revealed tentatively at the Turin Motor Show, Jeep promises full details will arrive later this month.
From looking at the images, the Renegade’s chunky proportions appear to have been refined with a series of minor design revisions. On the sporty Limited trim model, the changes inject a more upmarket image into the firm’s Nissan Qashqai rival.

At the front end we can spot new headlights with what looks like new LED daytime running signatures, while the bumper has been redesigned with a more aggressive front apron and repositioned fog lights. New taillights are the highlight around the back.
We’ve yet to see in the cabin, but we’d be surprised to see significant changes, or indeed changes at all. Only last year the Renegade received new infotainment, while the switchgear beneath it on the centre console was also altered.
However, the Renegade gets a trio of new petrol engines. A three-cylinder 1.0-litre develops 118bhp, while a more potent 1.3-litre four-cylinder arrives too, with either 148bhp or 178bhp. Diesel engines will continue to be offered unchanged, meaning a 1.6-litre unit with 118bhp sitting underneath a 2.0-litre, 168bhp car equipped with all-wheel-drive.
