2019 Hyundai Santa Fe First Drive

In the world of crossover SUVs, where does compact give way to midsize? The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe makes us wonder. Although it’s priced against small SUVs such as the Ford Escape, it’s nearly 10 inches longer than Ford’s compact entrant. In fact, it’s only a fraction of an inch shorter than the midsize Ford Edge. Within the Hyundai lineup, it slots in between the compact Tucson and the three-row Santa Fe XL, just as the Edge slots between…

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Pickup First Drive

Walking up to the 2019 GMC Sierra Denali 1500, it’s hard not to muse about GMC’s very identity. On the one hand, its historical roots as the General Motors Truck Co. give it a distinct commercial truck bent. Many people know it as “GMC Truck,” a dedicated truck-only brand that’s never sold cars. But over time, the brand has skewed toward the premium end of the market in order to distinguish GMC pickups from the mechanically identical trucks sold at…

Toyota Mulling a Return of the MR2

Starting with the introduction of the 86 (Scion FR-S in North America) in 2012, Toyota began spicing up a brand viewed as being more synonymous with bulletproof reliability than fun. While this manifested itself primarily through more expressive exterior design choices, the brand also introduced performance-tuned GRMN variants in Europe and Japan. It’s also bringing back the Supra, arguably the brand’s most iconic sports car. Still, a subset of the population looks back at Toyota’s history with a particular fondness for…

In South Korea, officials asked BMW diesel drivers to park their vehicles after reports of about 40 fires were traced to the coolant leak. South Korean investigators went as far as raiding the automaker’s offices in…

New Jaguar F-Type P380 2018 review

The Jaguar F-Type was a stunning sports car when it was introduced in 2013. Since then, it has gradually evolved into a desirable range of Jaguars that come in various guises, and at various different price points.  You can buy a coupe or a convertible, with four-cylinder, V6 and V8 engines, with more hardcore versions of both being available in hot-rod SVR specification. Fundamentally, however, not much has changed beneath the skin during the last five years, which would be…
